Hot Mulled Cider

Hot mulled apple cider is a big hit during the cold winter months. It gets better the longer you let it steep so start it the day before you want to serve it.  I like to make this in a large crock pot and add more apple cider as needed. The spices in this recipe can be replaced with a 1/4th cup of your favorite Mulling Spices.

  • Combine cinnamon, cloves, allspice, star anise and orange zest in cheesecloth tied or a large tea ball. Combine cider, sugar and spices in a saucepan or crock pot.
  • Simmer for at least an hour. The longer it simmers the better just make sure it is on super low heat.
  • Serve hot.
