The new Food Thermicator II, from Marlin Manufacturing, has become my newest, favorite tool in the kitchen. The Thermicator is a state of the art kitchen thermometer. Its sensing range is -4 (to +425 F) and accurate to (1.8 F). The Thermicator also comes in a Celsius version for those of you outside the US.

The temperature guide is printed right on the face of the Thermicator so you will never again forget the optimal temperature for your favorite foods. Another great feature is the long support arm that allows you to take the temperature of your roast, pork, chicken, etc. without putting your hands in harms way. The large LCD makes it very easy to read.

I have used the Thermicator on everything from steaks on the grill to the thanksgiving turkey. It is so versatile that you could even use it for making candy. The unit is a little bulky and the price is definetly salty, but the quality and versatility of this product still makes it a must for every serious cook.
