Amish Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 cup butter

  • 1 cup oil

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp cream of tartar

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 4 1/2 cups flour

Instructions

Blend all ingredients together, chill. With floured hands, shape into balls and place on cookie sheet, flatten with bottom of chilled glass dipped in sugar. Sprinkle with colored sugar. Bake 350° F until edges are golden.
